Course Unit Description

This course focuses on the principles and practices of public procurement and the associated legal and legislative framework. It also makes a detailed analysis of the difference between public sector and private sector procurement, public sector procurement policies and procedures, government institutions and their consequences for procurement professionals. The course covers an over view of disposal management, the different forms of disposal; the emerging issues and future trends of disposal management are emphasized. 

Course Objectives
This course unit will help students to achieve the following objectives:

  • Understanding the paradigmatic differences between public sector and private sector procurement
  • Understanding the nature and scope of public sector where procurement takes place 
  • Analyze public sector procurement policies and procedures
  • Understand the disposal process, forms and legal requirements regarding disposal
  • Discuss the emerging issues and future trends of disposal management

  • Prepare and assess tender documentation and conduct and manage a complete tender process
