Course Unit Title
Course Unit Description
This course reviews some of the more advanced features of the Internet and electronic commerce. It includes control and security issues in electronic business. Inter and Intra-organizational issues are covered, as well as system integration, including the linking the electronic shop-front with the financial management systems. Automation and the use of technology to exploit the benefits of electronic commerce are discussed. The course includes a major group project, which draws on a wide range of skills of team members to set up an integrated electronic business. Issues such as business-to-business transactions are also covered. Topics include: Computerized trading systems; Systems control and security; Electronic funds transfer; Automatic product identification and bar code technology; and Electronic data interchange, including control, legal and security issues.
Course Objectives
This course unit is meant:
- To give students advanced features of the Internet and electronic commerce
- To give students knowledge of control and security issues in electronic business
- Describe the major types of electronic commerce Computerized trading systems,
- Discuss the e-commerce payment processes
- Describe electronic commerce control, legal and security issues.
