Course Unit Description
This unit focuses on the evolution and development of societies, states and civilizations in Africa. It also covers the types of African heritage with special emphasis on African cultural aspects in different periods.
Course Objectives
By the end of the unit, student should be able to:
- Examining organization structures of pre-colonial state in Africa
- Compare the historical organizational structures with modern society
- To facilitate unit and all integration
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course unit the student will be able to;
- Draw a map of Africa and indicates its physical features
- Explain the origins, migrations and settlements of African people and how that knowledge can be used to build unity, peace, tranquillity and integration
- Illustrate the attributes of the organization structure of pre-colonial societies to the present
- Demonstrate how the traces of ancient civilization be harnessed for social and economic development
- Examine the organization structures of pre-colonial states in Africa
