Course Unit Description

This Course introduces general concepts of electricity and magnetism. It covers the following major topics-electrostatics, DC and AC circuits and electromagnetic effects.

Course Objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to:

  • Solve problems in electrostatic tones
  • Analyse AC and DC circuits
  • Apply the acquired knowledge to effectively teach Sciences.
  • Apply the laws of electromagnetic induction to problem solving
  • Describe and apply the effects of static magnetic fields on moving charges.
  • Carry out experiments involving electric currents and magnetic coils;
  • Describe electric motors, simple generators and transformers
  • Effectively teach pupils Science subjects
