BCT2101 Digital Systems Design
Course Unit Title
BCT2101 Digital Systems Design
Course Unit Description
This course is meant to expose students to more advanced issues in digital electronics with the main focus on the design sequential digital circuits. The course also introduces the interface between analogue and digital systems and ends with the introduction on the use of CAD approach to digital circuits.
Course Objective(s)
- The Objective of this course is to familiarize the student with fundamental principles of digital design. It provides coverage of classical hardware design for both combinational and sequential logic circuits.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Designing digital sequential electronic circuits.
- Analyze digital sequential electronic circuits.
- Test digital sequential electronic circuits.
- Explain different applications of digital circuits.
- Design analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue signal converters.
- Use CAD to design digital circuits.
