BEE1205 Fluid Mechanics

It will first cover basics concept in mechanics and fluid mechanics and then it shift to solving particular problems in fluid mechanics. Concept such as surface tension, viscosity and waves will be covered in details. We will discuss steady and unsteady flow.

Course Objectives

• The course will introduce fluid mechanics and establish its relevance in electrical engineering.
• Develop the fundamental principles underlying the subject.
• Demonstrate how these are used for the design of simple hydraulic components.

Learning Outcomes

• The students will be able to get a basic knowledge of fluids in static, kinematic and dynamic equilibrium.
• They will also gain the knowledge of the applicability of physical laws in addressing problems in hydraulics.
