Course Unit Description
This course covers the important aspects of the micro-livestock industry in Uganda, enabling the students to engage in this industry.
Course Objectives
- To equip students with skills and knowledge in Apiculture and sericulture
- To equip students with skills and knowledge in other micro-livestock especially rabbits.
- Equip students with knowledge on value addition and marketing of microlivestock
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to:
- Know the needs, behavior health and management silk worms, bees and rabbits
- Appreciate special needs nutrition and health with regard to bees, silkworms and rabbits.
- Set up an apiary and manage it
