APM 2104 Pharmacology & Animal Drugs Management

Drugs form a significant component in disease management in farm set ups. This course will expose students to the use of drugs in the management of diseases of farm animals.

Course Objectives

• To train the students on the basic principles of chemotherapy
• To train the students on the general principles governing the use of important classes of animal drugs 
• To train students on therapeutic principles of disease management 

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:

• Know the adverse effects of drugs and their interactions
• Appreciate the legal obligations of persons who handle drugs
• Handle and use drugs in the management of diseases of farm animals
