Course Unit Description

This course covers general overview of microbiology and cell biology classification of microorganisms, beneficial microbiology and pathogenic microbiology.

Course Objectives
At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe cell and compare micrograms in relation to physiology. 
  • Explain the ecology, physiology and classification of microorganisms in agriculture.
  • Explain how the microorganisms can be harmful or beneficial in agricultural production.
  • Factors determining types and rates of microbial spoilage.
  • Justify the need for control or promote the beneficial microorganisms.
