Course Unit Description
Conceptual foundations, Cognitive and social foundation, Geographic information and spatial data types, Data processing system, Data entry and preparation, spatial data analysis, spatial statistics data visualization, related practical. Introduction to remote sensing, sensors and platforms, Aerial cameras, Multispectral scanners, Radar, Remote sensing below the ground, Geometric aspects, Image enhancement and visualization, and Digital image classification.
Course objectives
- Students will learn skills of spatial data entry, storage, retrieval, manipulation and visualization. Students will also learn various methods and models in earth observation using remote sensing images to measure and monitor changes in the earth’s surface and atmosphere.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be equipped with skills of handling spatial data and making scientific inferences for decision making in natural resource management.
