Course Unit Description
Natural processes and satisfying human needs often clash, leading to a wide range of environmental issues. Water quality and scarcity, soil degradation, food supply, loss of biodiversity, vulnerability to severe weather and climate change are just a few examples of key issues that need attention. Rehabilitation and management of the natural resources involves the use of various technologies and practices of which many may not be familiar to the custodians of natural resources. A technology should, be adopted before it can be effective in mitigating a particular environmental problem. The adoption of the technology is, influenced by several biophysical and socio-economic factors. Therefore, necessary for the students of fisheries to understand the appropriate approaches that can cause effectively adoption of the technology.

By the end of the course, students will be able to;
- Learn the basic concepts and terminologies of Environment Extension and Education
- Learn the basic communication skills.
- Demonstrate various methods of Environmental Extension and Education.
