Course Unit Description
Social psychology helps us learn what science can tell us about feelings, thoughts, and behaviours in social situations. For first-year graduate students, this course offers a broad survey of Social Psychology. We will explore the power of the situation and how even the mere presence of another can change who we are. Then examine what we bring to situations and how our attitudes colour our perceptions and thoughts. Finally, we will study culture by looking for variation across cultures and cross-cultural universals.

- Describes the implication of group processes on peoples’ lives
- Identifies situations in which culture influences social relationships
- Describes the social influence and relationships on human behavior
- Uses various theories to describe the social nature of human beings
- Examines and interpret behavior in different social situations
