DCP1101 Principles of Agriculture and Climatology

This module seeks to introduce the students to the Principles of Agriculture, Climatology and Meteorology, and Climate Change.

Course Objectives

• To explain the basic principles of agriculture and its role in national development
• To explain the basic concepts of climatology and meteorology.
• To describe key issues related to climate change

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to:

• Explain the principles of agriculture and the role of agriculture in economic development
• Discuss the key concepts of climatology and meteorology
• Identify and use the different instruments at weather stations
• Collect data from weather stations, analyze it and predict weather 
• Discuss the effects of climate change and its adaptation and mitigation options.
