The course introduces students to the appreciation and understanding of the role of Cost Accounting in Businesses.

Course Objectives

• The course aims at creating an appreciation of the role of Cost and management accounting in Business. The student will gain knowledge of the Basic Costing Techniques and Methods used in Business

• By the end of the course, the student should be able to apply different costing methods and techniques in the ascertainment of Cost Information that can assist him in planning, control and decision-making
• Upon completion of the course students will be able to apply knowledge of cost behaviour and make simple cost statements in the business
