Course Objectives

• To give students knowledge and skills to enable them identify parasites that affect livestock and diagnose livestock diseases caused by parasites and micro-organisms

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:

• Describe biological interaction/ relationships/associations between organisms
• Classify organisms by kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species
• Identify common parasites of livestock
• Collect, prepare and examine gross specimens of common parasites of livestock
• Describe the lifecycles of common livestock parasites
• Explain and implement the strategies for parasite control in livestock production
