Course Unit Description

This course is designed to provide learners with a comprehension of the composition, organisation and functioning of plant and animal cells. A comparative approach will be used to study both plant and animal cells. 

Course Objectives
By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Define a cell as a basic unit of life
  • Describe the structure of the animal and plant cell
  • Describe how the cell functions

Expected Outcomes

  • Adequately trained students  to teach cytology and histology
  • Graduates with adequate knowledge in histological techniques
