Course Unit Description

Students shall be attached to organizations or farms outside the University for 10 weeks during the recess term where they shall practice skills performed in the organization. The appropriate Department will be responsible for designing guidelines and formats for evaluation of the Industrial Training 

Course Objectives

  • To attain exposure of students to field skills interpersonal relationships that are practical 
  • To expose the students to practicals in industries, extension organizations, government and private organizations.
  • To enable students get exposed to facilities that are in the industries which are not in the campus.
  • To apprentice students to supervisors with experience in the industries, to guide them get practices not available in the campus.
  • To expose students to working conditions, in real working environments.
  • To enable students learn to appreciate and communicate with others
  • To enable students apply the knowledge and skill acquired theoretically, extend class knowledge to nearby communities.
  • To enable students to deal with common problems within communities, able to be acquainted with village life.

Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to:

  • Be responsible officers after finishing the course and to practically develop a program plan, leadership and interact with NGO programs.
  • To work together with the village community to solve problems and be able to work under difficult conditions.
  • Appreciate the importance of industrial attachment.
  • Carry out routine practices in agricultural production, processing and related activities
  • Collect data in the field of attachment
  • Analyze and interprete data collected
  • Write a report on the industrial training attachment, experiences and lessons learnt.
