Course Unit Description
This course is designed to assist learners in the compilation of monetary and financial statistics. The course covers the issues such as principles of monetary and financial statistics, government financial statistics, and government Revenue and Expenditure.
General Course Objectives
By the end of the course, learners should be able to:
- demonstrate an Understanding of monetary and financial statistics
- undertake data collection and compilation issues for establishing statistics
- use a variety of statistical approaches to analyze financial and investment data.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- An overview of the monetary and financial statistics collected
- Presentations on methodology and data collection issues for Monetary Financial Institutions’ (MFIs’) balance sheet statistics, minimum reserve statistics, MFI interest rate statistics, securities issuance statistics, and statistics on other financial intermediaries;
- Methodology and data compilation issues for establishing statistics on financial accounts, including requests for monetary union financial accounts
