Course Unit Description

The course provides an overview of Artificial Intelligence including search, knowledge representation, probabilistic reasoning and decision making under uncertainty, machine learning, and topics from NLP, information retrieval, knowledge engineering and multi-agent systems. This course will introduce the basic ideas and techniques underlying the design of intelligent computer systems. A specific emphasis will be on the statistical and decision-theoretic modeling paradigm.

Course Objective(s)

  • To introduce the basic ideas and techniques underlying the design of intelligent computer systems.

Course Outcomes

  • By the end of this course, the student will be able to build autonomous agents that efficiently make decisions in fully informed, partially observable and adversarial settings.
