Course Unit Description
This course aims at enhancing the ability of student teachers to effectively develop and use teaching and learning resources in computer studies. The course emphasizes the use of a hands-on approach and project activities. The use of practical work in computer studies and ICT lab management are also covered in the course.
Course objectives
This course unit is meant to enable learners to
- Design, develop and use different teaching and learning aids in computer studies
- Describe different possible lay-outs of a school ICT Laboratory and factors in selection of a suitable layout for a given context.
- Explain the prerequisites for effective and efficient management of a school ICT Lab
- State and explain the duties and responsibilities of different staff members in a computer studies department
- Prepare and supervise practical work in computer studies
