STA2202 Econometrics I
Course Unit Title
STA2202 Econometrics I
Course Unit Description
This introduces learners to analysis of Economics and Economics models using Regression Analysis. It covers the major topics such as Correlation Analysis of models,
Significance of correlation coefficients, Simple Linear Regression Analysis, Transformation of non-linear to linear models, Specification of models, Estimation of models, and Verification of models and Application of models.
General Course Objectives
By the end of the course, the participants should be in a good position to do:
- To demonstrate understanding of the concept of Regression and Correlation analysis.
- To build realistic regression models from relationship between variables
- To describe relationships in population models
- To prove the different regression analytical tools
- To compute and apply the significance of regression as a tool that ultimately can be used for planning, decision-making, predication and give forecasting of future values
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Show understanding of the concept of Regression and Correlation analysis
- Build realistic regression models from relationship between variables
- Relate population models
- Show understanding of the different regression analytical tools
- Show understanding of the significance of regression as a tool that ultimately can be used for planning, decision-making, predication and give forecasting of future values
