Course Unit Description

The course introduces students to methods of teaching physical education in secondary schools and how to conduct research or projects. 

Course Objective

  • State factors that influence planning and evaluation of a physical education curriculum
  • Explain the various models used in physical education curriculum design in secondary schools
  • Differentiate assessment, measurement and evaluation and testing.
  • Identify key factors to consider when planning a physical education lesson and Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans for physical education
  • Apply appropriate teaching methods and styles to suit different topics in physical education

Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students are expected to;
