SEE8211 Electric Power Transmission and Distribution

This course will focus on the various layers and components in modern electric power networks, technological and economic aspects of power system operations and the current and future technological changes that the system will be facing.

• Identify major components of power transmission and distribution systems and substations and appreciate key factors in network design
• Be able to use computer tools to analyse the operational and economic performance of systems
• Demonstrate awareness of the drivers of change in how networks are designed and operated, understand the technical challenges, and provide solutions
