Aims

  • To give students a broad understanding of the central role of Energy in all economic activities.
  • To equip students with knowledge in efficient use of energy in different activities of an economy
  • To provide students with practical knowledge of how energy can be saved in different activities so that they are able to design, select, operate and maintain energy-efficient systems.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students are able to identify routine work in their environments that could be mechanised or energised to improve productivity.
  • Students can analyze, design or reengineer energy-consuming parts of equipment for increased life cycle energy efficiency
  • Students appreciate the effects of operating techniques and maintenance on energy consumption of devices and machinery
