SEE8102 Engineering Research Methods

This compulsory course covers the fundamentals and methods of doing engineering research. It focuses on research design, design of data collection instruments, implementation of data collection plans, and principles of research report writing and dissemination.

• To instruct students on engineering academic writing

• Students explain the various terminology used in research methods
• Students describe the various research designs applied in research
• Students develop research proposal including identification of a research problem, formulation of research objectives, description of the methodology and the data analysis techniques
• Students identify shortcomings in research proposals, designs and reports
