SEE8101 Energy Resources: (Compulsory subject in semester 1)

This compulsory course covers the different natural sources of energy available on the planet and how they are harnessed for use by Man. Effects of their exploitation are also studied.

Aims

• To give students a broad understanding of Energy resources around them
• To equip students with knowledge in exploitation of the resources 
• To provide students with practical knowledge of harnessing the resources, so that they are able to use it to solve some practical energy-related problems in the societies they live or work. 

Learning Outcomes
Students are able to explain sources of fuels and their relative merits and demerits 
Students are able to identify energy related business opportunities and risks from resources in their environment.
