The course is intended to introduce students to the specific area of public procurement, with great emphasis on the Ugandan situation and laws.
Course Objectives
This course is designed to help students to:
- Illustrate the difference between private and public sector procurement
- Help students appreciate the procurement framework in the public sector
- Help the students identify the key stakeholders in public sector procurement
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, the learner should be able to;
- Recognize the legal responsibility of procurement personnel,
- Acknowledge the basic principles and concepts of public procurement,
- Acquire knowledge and skills of obtaining value for money in public procurement,
- Learn how to build quality into procurement and supplies contracts and manage contractors more effectively
