Course Unit Description

This course introduces teacher trainees to basic principles of scientific research methods. It enables them to conduct research for both academic and social values.

Course objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to

  • Understand the importance of do research in education
  • Identify a research problem and state it
  • Write a research proposal and Carry out any type of research work
  • Do statistical analysis of research finding and meaningful deductions or conclusions
  • Appreciate the significance of research ethics.

Expected learning outcomes

  • Students adequately prepared to explain the relationship between economic factors and education.
  • Students who can interpret the realities of education in Uganda.
