BPM1101 Procurement theory

The course is intended introduce the concepts of procurement and logistics as a major area of  an organization’s survival strategy, the study of this paper is intended to acquaint the student with logistics and procurement issues that affect the overall functioning of the organisation. 

Course objective

• To enable the students, understand the evolutionary stages of the procurement and supply chain management discipline to date and understand the strategic focus of procurement and supply chain in both private and public sectors.

Learning Outcomes

• By the end of this course students should be able to describe and represent the synthesis of the relevant concepts, principles and methods from the traditional area of management from the areas of marketing, production, purchasing, finance etc.
