PHY7205: Advanced Materials Science

This course covers the characteristics of materials and their applications in manufacturing industries. The course also covers different methods of processing materials in industries.

Course Objectives
The objectives of the course are to:

• Discuss the elasticity of different materials.
• Describe crystal defects
• Describe materials in terms of thermal properties
• Discuss the different processing methods

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

• Apply elasticity concept in the choice of different materials.
• Classify materials using crystal defect information
• Apply thermal properties of materials in making utensils
• Process materials using a variety of methods
