Course Unit Description
The course is intended to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of the main concepts and skills required to provide leadership in Public Policy Formulation and Management. It equips students with the knowledge in the design, implementation, and evaluation of Public Policy Management.
Course objectives
The course is intended to introduce students to comparative analysis of public policy. It particularly evaluates latitude of important incentives and limitations characteristics of the policy process formulation and introduces students to the policy making models that seeks to provide an analytical and critical framework.
Specifically, the paper is intended to introduce students to;
- Analytical tools necessary to analyze policy making actors along side their strategic behavior to the political process.
- Knowledge in analysis of policy process from inception of new policy, policy implementation to policy review.
- Have an understanding of the different conceptual and theoretical perspectives applied to public policy formulation and management.
- To have an understanding of the principles underlying the implementation of public policy and management processes.

- Embrace creative and innovative approaches to public policy formulation and management
- Describe policy making process and their subsequent implementation within the public administration framework.
