MED4302: Psychiatry
Course Unit Description
This course introduces the students to clinical clerkship in psychiatry. Students will spend most of the time on the wards participating in patient care. Emphasis will be on mastering clinical skills particularly history taking, examining patients, investigation of patients, interpretation of laboratory results and patient management.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, the students should be able to;
- Explain the epidemiology, etiology and manifestations of major Psychiatric. Develop skills in diagnosing and management of common psychiatric disorders
- Describe the clinical pharmacology of drugs used in Psychiatric disorders
