Course Unit Description

This is a community-based course where students will spend time participating in the primary healthcare program of the health facility. During this time, they will be introduced to the national health policy and the organization and structure of the health care delivery system. They will be introduced to health system management and the existing information system. Students will present a report and a log book of their activities at the end of the course.  
 
Course objectives 

  • To explain  the elements and principles of Primary Health Care
  • To explain the factors that affect nutrition status of individuals and communities. 
  • To discuss  the National Health policy, organization and structure of the Health Care delivery systems 
  • Describe the process and utilization of health management information system
  • Be able to design instruments of collecting data.
