Course Unit Description

This course covers the epidemiology and pathology of diseases of the reproductive and urinary system. Approaches to investigating these diseases and pharmacotherapy are discussed.  
 
Course objectives
By the end of the course students should be able to;  

  • Describe the effect of pathological processes on the structure and function of the genitourinary and endocrine systems 
  • Explain the immunopathogenic mechanisms of pregnancy 
  • Describe infertility and tumors of the reproductive system. 
  • Describe the clinical pharmacology of the drugs commonly used to treat reproductive and urinogenital system disorders   
  • Explain the scientific basis of the laboratory and imaging techniques used in investigating disorders of the genitourinary and reproductive systems.
