Course Unit Description

This course covers the epidemiology and pathology of common diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory system. It also handles the pharmacology of drugs used in treating these conditions. Techniques of investigating cardiovascular and respiratory disorders are also introduced.   
 
Course objectives 
By the end of the course students should be able to: 

  • Explain the epidemiology and pathogenesis of cardio-respiratory disorders.
  • Discuss the role of and acquire skills in investigative procedures of cardio-respiratory   disorders. 
  • Explain the clinical pharmacology of drugs acting on the cardio-respiratory system
