Course Unit Description

This course acts as an introduction to pharmacology. The course covers the principles underlying drug therapy. It also introduces students to laboratory techniques of investigating drug efficacy and safety, and the concept of rational use of drugs. 
  
Course objectives 
By the end of the course students should be able to;         

  • Students to the concept of drug therapy
  • Describe major events occurring when drug interacts with the body
  • Demonstrate the principles of drug administration and management
  • Describe factors affecting treatment outcomes
  • Describe the principles of rational drug use.
