Course Unit Description

This course covers the embryological development and gross anatomy of head and neck regions. It also covers the physiology of muscular tissues and mechanisms of locomotion. The biochemistry of bones, connective tissue is also discussed.  
 
Course objectives 
By the end of the course students should be able to;  

  • describe the anatomy and embryology of the limbs, neck and head regions 
  • describe the radiological anatomy of the limbs, neck and head region  
  • describe the physiology and biochemistry of bones, muscles and connective tissues and their role in body movement 
  • state the techniques used in studying musculo-skeletal systems and describe their normal findings
