MED1102: Communication skills and ICT in Medicine

This course focuses on effective communication and introduces students to information and communication technology with special reference to medicine. The course helps to guide students on available   medical information resources which they will use throughout their training.  
 
Course Objectives 
By the end of the course, students should be able to;  

• Develop communication skills relevant to medical practice 
• Identify important source of information available to medical practitioners 
• Explain major ICT concepts 
• Develop skills in accessing information from both print and electronic databases. 
• Develop skills in utilizing basic computer programs
