MED1101: The Medical Profession, Nationalism & Ethics

This course introduces students to the medical professions, the challenges facing our country and the principles of medical ethics. 

Course Objectives: 
By the end of the course, students should be able to;  

• Explain the principles on which the medical profession operates. 
• Describe the different disciplines that makes up the Medical profession 
• Describe our national challenges and the duty of the medical professional to society and his country develop the appropriate professional values and attitudes 
• Explain the methods of teaching and learning in health professional education. 
• Explain the ethical principles that guide medical practice
