MAT7103 Fluid Dynamics
Course Unit Title
MAT7103 Fluid Dynamics
Course Unit Description
This course introduces students to the mathematics of fluids. This is very important course, since most interesting problems in mathematical modelling are related to fluids.
Course Objectives
- To develop the ability of students to derive mathematical formulations of problem involving continuous media and identify deferent techniques to solve such problems
- To develop the understanding of Navier-Stokes equations
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Derive the Euler’s equations of motion.
- Formulate mathematical models for inviscid fluid flow.
- Derive Navier-Stokes equations of motion.
- Formulate mathematical models for viscous fluid flow
