Course Unit Description

This is an introductory course in psychology.  The course exposes students, who have not done psychology before, to the nature of human behavior shown by learners, especially in secondary schools. 

Course objectives
By the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to

  • Compare and contrast the various personality approaches and theories.
  • Identify and explain cognitive and behavioral strategies for dealing with stress and promoting health.
  • Relate well with other students and their colleagues
  • Understand him/her as well as others.
  • Describe the research methods used in psychology.

Expected outcomes

  • It is expected to have a teacher who knows the most salient issues of our society that are linked to human attitudes, values and behavior.  The teacher should be able to identify the problems and their solutions.
