Course Unit Description

This part of research is a continuation of Research Methodology course. The aim of this course is to enable students to write a research report/ dissertation. Therefore, the course equips students with in-depth knowledge and critical analytical skills necessary to understand, design, conduct and critically appraise the research process. Students spend time consulting with their respective supervisors to complete the dissertation and submit before the final assessment week for marking, and subsequently graduate.

Course Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • identify the research designs best suited for investigating different types of research problems 
  • design data collection tools, collect data, enter data into appropriate software
  • analyse Quantitative data at descriptive and inferential stages.
  • write a research report.
  • develop and evaluate policies and programmes basing on research findings 

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • collect data based on  the research designs best suited for investigating different types of research problems 
  • compile  data collection tools, collect data, enter data into appropriate software
  • Organise and analyse quantitative data at descriptive and inferential stages.
  • Compile a research report.
  • recommend   policies and programmes basing on research findings
