Course Unit Description
The course provides analysis of historical development of education with particular reference to schooling and other agents of socialization viewed in their social, political and economic context. It also exposes students to both formal and informal Education development in Uganda.
Course Objectives
The course will familiarize students with development of education in system in the pre-colonial Uganda.
- It will also acquaint students with education development during colonial and post-colonial eras.
- It will also enable student s to explore gender dynamics in education and their effects.
- The course will expose students to various interventions strategies both national and international.
Learning outcomes
- Teachers who successfully complete this course will be open to changes in education systems and will be ready to initiate changes or be part of it, in order to improve the education system in the society.
