Course Unit Description
A study of theoretical and practical problems of moral conduct in the field of business. The course emphasizes both the philosophical foundations of ethical conduct and the practical problems encountered in the day-to-day conduct of business affairs. Much of the study of practical problems centres around actual case studies.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Develop and enhance skills of moral judgment, critical reading, persuasive writing and speaking skills
- Formulate a practical framework for ethical decision making
- Demonstrate knowledge of the theoretical approaches to business ethics and to apply them to practical situations
- Evaluate the ethical policies of a range of businesses.
