Course Unit Description

This introductory course to human resources management is intended to cover basic personal functions of planning, recruitment selection, training, appraising, motivating and maintaining employee performance. This course therefore should be geared towards making students understand the various functions of human resources management and responsibilities of both managers and employees.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Describe the critical role Human Resource Management plays in the survival of organizations
  • Demonstrate capacity to appreciate the role of Human Resource Management in an organization and its contribution to the overall organizational performance
