EDM1204 Micro-Economics
Course Unit Description
The course aims at giving students a good appreciation of Macroeconomics theory and policy. It is designed to impart to students a primary knowledge of the major theoretical contributions in the field of Macroeconomics with appropriate applications.
Objectives of the Course
- The course aims to provide the student with a solid appreciation of macroeconomics at the intermediate level and to ensure that students can apply macroeconomic analysis to the study of economic problems.
- At the end of the course, students will be enriched with macroeconomic problems and the policies affecting many economies and suggested mitigating measures with a focus on the growing globalization of the world economy.
Learning out comes
By the end the end of the course, the learner should be able to:
- Demonstrate a thorough appreciation of macro-economic issues that have a direct bearing on business
- Identify macro-economic problems affecting Ugandan business operations
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and critical appreciation of macroeconomic theory.
- Appreciate the interaction between theory and empirical (i.e. applied) research in macroeconomics.
- Demonstrates critical appreciation of the theoretical and empirical literature on major international and/or domestic macroeconomic issues
