Course Unit Description

This course examines the application of economic theories, concepts and analysis to the business-decision-making problems.  At the end of the course, students should be able to apply economic theory as a tool of analysing business and managerial problems in order to make rational business and managerial decisions.

Course Objectives 
By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Apply economic theories and concepts to analysis of business decisions made by managers and other economic agents.
  • Assess the economic environment under which firms operate given their goals.
  • Explain the functioning of market structures and the behaviour of firms, as well as the economic implications of each.
  • Identify various growth strategies of a firm.

Learning Outcomes
