Course Unit Description

This course introduces to the basic skills and the knowledge of farm management, resource management, record keeping and accounting.

Course Objectives

  • To explain the basics of farm management and their relevance to farm production
  • To explain the steps mangers follow to plan and make decisions 
  • To describe the farm management accounts and budgeting for maximum production 
  • To describe how to mobilize, utilize and manage production resource in a sustainable manner
  • To explain how to create and maintain accurate records of all farm activities
  • The explain how to keep financial records and to produce financial statements

Learning outcomes
At the end of this course unit, the learner should be able to:

  • Describe basic farm management concepts, their relevance and be able to apply them in firm decision making
