Course Unit Description

This course is designed to expose students to research and appropriate methodologies. It also introduces the students to the methods and techniques used in research and how to carry out scientific reporting. 

Course Objectives

  • To explain the aspects of identifying a research topic, area, problem and carrying out research and writing a good proposal and report.
  • To explain the relevance of statistics in agricultural production

Learning Outcomes 
At the end of this course the students should be able to: 

  • Identify a research area, problem and topic
  • Write a simple research proposal, collect and analyze data and write a simple research report
  • Explain the relevancy of agricultural statistics in agricultural production
  • Analyze data using statistics
  • Conduct a simple agricultural research
