This course seeks to introduce the students to different sources of farm power, classification of tractors, farm machinery, engines and animal traction.
Course objectives
- To explain the principles of mechanization of crop production.
- To identify common farm power sources and their merits and demerits
- To describe the internal combustion engines, functions of each part
- To describe various machineries
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the students should be able to:
- Explain the theory of Agricultural machinery and animal traction.
- Describe and use the different sources of farm power
- Describe how the engine produces power and tractor controls
- Use, Operate and drive a tractor and train animals for farm work
- Do simple repairs and services on farm machinery and implements
